We are the Purple Movement

Where purposeful people gather to explore, tackle issues, and create meaningful change. A community without barriers, where your skills matter and open new possibilities.

The Purple Movement Manifesto

We are the Manifestors of Change.

Not waiting for the future, but building it with courage, code, creativity, and clarity. We are the voice of a generation that refuses to settle.

We are not consumers of culture; we are producers of purpose. We break barriers for every young mind daring to dream. We believe in ecosystems that empower, not limit.

In access, not gatekeeping.

In bold visions, not borrowed templates.

We are here to reclaim the narrative. To give confidence to the curious, networks to the bold, and direction to the determined.

This is The Purple Movement.

A wave of youth power, purpose, and possibility. A signal that change is not coming—it’s already here.

We are the energy.

We are the strategy.

We are the spark.

And it starts now.

Our Goal

We aim to build a world free of barriers and privilege, where compassion and fairness open the door for everyone to rise and realize their potential. By helping people grow and encouraging them to uplift others, we create a community that thrives together

Our Purpose

A community that rises beyond borders, syllabus limits, and gatekeepers, where curiosity and generosity guide how we learn and grow. Together, we create an open cycle of shared learning, mutual support, and lifelong empowerment because real progress begins with generosity.

Why Purple?

Purple isn't just a colour for us, it represents what happens when two worlds meet.

Red

Red symbolizes the youth: energetic, passionate, curious, and ready to create change.

Blue

Blue symbolizes experienced professionals: steady, knowledgeable, and capable of unlocking new possibilities.

Purple

When red and blue come together, they create purple—a symbol of collaboration, balance, and the future we want to build.

Today, a gap exists between these two groups. There's no bridge, no shared space where they can learn from each other.

We aim to bridge that gap.

  • A place where young minds can prove that change is possible and necessary.
  • A place where experts can guide, inspire, and open doors to new opportunities.
  • A place where everyone can be themselves, grow together, and lift each other up.

And that thought every person has felt at least once:

“If only there was a place where I could learn, connect, and be understood”

we're here to make that place real.

Growth has no boundaries.

Purple is a community where learning, opportunities, and people come together to create real impact.

We believe in an open, inclusive world where everyone can explore, connect, and grow — beyond syllabus, beyond borders, and beyond gatekeepers.

  1. Beyond Borders

We can't push people apart with boundaries. Beyond Borders means enabling global access to the best talent, markets, and opportunities for everyone.

  2. Beyond Gatekeepers

We don't hold opportunities for ourselves, we share them. Beyond Gatekeepers is about lifting others up, showcasing their skills, and creating a community where growth is open, fair, and accessible.

  3. Beyond Syllabus

Learning shouldn't stop at a textbook. Beyond Syllabus is about exploring, experimenting, and discovering what truly inspires — so curious minds can grow, create, and lead their own way.

Upcoming: Rise Together 2026

We already have more than we realise. It’s time to build together.

Convened by The Purple Movement, Rise Together 2026 moves from conversations to collective action with purpose. It brings people together to connect the capabilities that already exist into practical, collaborative pilots — then follows that work through reviews at 30, 90 and 180 days.

How it works

How the movement works

  1. Step 1: Discover

Find activities and real challenges — campus sessions, domain chapters, symposiums and pilots.

  2. Step 2: Contribute

Offer what you have: skills, ideas, time, access to people or places, or mentorship.

  3. Step 3: Collaborate

Work across institutions and communities, with students and professionals side by side.

  4. Step 4: Carry it forward

Publish what happened and keep the work that works going — with reviews, not just applause.

Published outcomes, with their status

Bridge The Gap, the symposium series behind Beyond Syllabus, keeps a public ledger of the interventions its discussions produced. As recorded by the organising team, 16 are in motion and 3 have been adopted.

One adopted change: Kerala Technological University revised its B.Tech internship norms (U.O. No. 3068/2023/KTU) so students can take a four-to-six-month internship in the eighth semester without a break in study.

Legacy · From FAYA:80 to the Purple Movement

Built on twelve years of FAYA:80

For twelve years, FAYA:80 created a dependable monthly space for Kerala’s technology community to learn, share and connect. The Purple Movement carries that culture beyond a single event series, opening it to more disciplines, institutions, communities and forms of collective action.

FAYA:80 (read “FAYA port 80”) was a free monthly technology session hosted by FAYA Corporation at Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram.

  1. FAYA:80 begins

A free monthly technology gathering at Technopark connects enthusiasts, professionals, entrepreneurs, developers, institutions and experts through peer learning.
